Obituary of Ferrell Gene Claiborne

Ferrell Gene Claiborne, age 82 of Gallatin, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021. Graveside Service will be Friday, May 7th at 10:00 a.m. at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, with family serving as pallbearers. Mr. Claiborne was born March 5, 1939 in Davidson County to the late Cordell Claiborne and Wenell Porter Claiborne. He is survived by wife of 61 years, Mattie Rebecca Thornton Claiborne of Gallatin; daughters, Dana Butler (Glen) of Lebanon and Katrina Stearns (Mark) of Greenbrier; 3 grandchildren, Dr. Allen Vantrease (Ashley), Aaron Vantrease (Amber), and Ethan Bult; and 3 great grandchildren, Sophie, Deacon, and Felicity. Mr. Claiborne served our country in the United States Air Force and Air National Guard. He retired from Dupont after over 30 years of service and then from the Air National Guard.
