Obituary of Gene Thurman

Gene Thurman, age 75 of Gallatin, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018.  Funeral Service will be Tuesday, June 5th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home (100 Albert Gallatin Avenue), with Bro. Don Curtis officiating.  Visitation will be Monday, June 4th from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, June 5th from 12:00 noon until time of service at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will follow the service at Lower Bethpage Cemetery, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Thurman was born June 3, 1942 in Sandersville, TN, to the late William Thomas Jones and Claudean Perry Jones.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, J. C. Thurman.  She is survived by sons, Doug Carver (Sherry) of Mt.  Juliet and Johnny Carver (Alice) of Lebanon; sisters, Willie Dean Heffin of Lebanon and Barbara Clark of Bethpage; brother, James Wesley Jones of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 4 grandchildren, Kevin Douglas Carver (Lori), Jonathan Carver, Lisa Rybaczule, and Brandie Carver; and 2 great grandchildren, Andrew Carver and Kaylea Carver.  Mrs. Thurman worked for many years at Ross Gear; after leaving Ross Gear, she went to work with her husband at their business, Thurman Plumbing and Electric.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Buffalo Springs Missionary Baptist Church, Old Hwy 31-E, Bethpage, TN  37022.  Online condolences may be submitted at alexanderheritagefh.com.  Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
