Obituary of Jesse W. Bradley

Jesse W. Bradley, age 84 of Gallatin, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018.  Funeral Service will be Wednesday, June 6th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home (100 Albert Gallatin Avenue), with 3 of his grandsons,  Bro. Duane Biggs, Bro. Andy Biggs, and Bro. Michael Bradley officiating.  Visitation will be Tuesday, June 5th from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, June 6th from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.  Entombment will follow at Sumner Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, with his grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Mr. Bradley was born June 6, 1933 in Macon County, to the late Raymond Bradley and Vera Jent Bradley.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, Earl Dean Bradley.  He is survived by wife of 65 ½ years, Mattie Jewel Dorris Bradley of Gallatin; son, Ricky Bradley (Sandra) of Gallatin; daughters, Teresa Biggs of Gallatin and Beth Lemons (Tim) of Gallatin; brothers, Hollis J. Bradley (Billie Sue) of Plainfield, IN, Clovis “Toby” Bradley of Indianapolis, IN; sister-in-law, Ruby Bradley of Bethpage; 8 grandchildren, Duane Biggs (Beth), Andy Biggs (Stephanie), Tim Biggs, Jason Bradley (Stephanie), Michael Bradley (Sarah), David Floyd (Marcia), Brad Floyd, and Cindy O’Malley (Heather); 19 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

He worked for Genesco, Chrysler, GM, Eaton Corp., and retired from Ford Glass Plant.  In addition, he owned Bradley’s Coin Laundry and Sunshine Cleaners.  Mr. Bradley was a 32nd Degree Mason with Trammel Lodge #436 in Westmoreland.  Mr. Bradley was a member of First Baptist Church Gallatin, He has been involved in gospel music since he was a child, singing with his family, “The Bradley Brothers Quartet”.  He was a member of numerous gospel groups throughout the years, none that he was more proud of than with his children, “The Bradley Family”.
