Obituary of Benjamin Hood Williams III

Benjamin Hood Williams III, age 59 of Gallatin, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018.  Visitation will be at Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home, 100 Albert Gallatin Avenue Sunday, August 5th from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Monday, August 6th from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, August 7th at First United Methodist Church, 149 West Main Street, Gallatin, TN  37066, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. James Johnson officiating. Interment will follow the service at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 7931 McCrory Lane, Nashville, TN  37221.

Col. (Ret) Williams was born November 6, 1958 in Nashville, to the late Benjamin Hood Williams, Jr and Mary Anne Rowlette Williams.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by sister, Kay Williams.  He is survived by wife of 36 years, Gina Dretchen Williams of Gallatin; sons, Derek Williams (Jessica) of Gallatin, Matthew Williams of Gallatin, and Jacob Williams of Gallatin; daughter, Julia Williams of Gallatin; niece, Anne Sandelovich of Gallatin; step-mother, Elaine Williams of Nashville; step-brothers, Joe Purky of Nashville and Pete Purky (Maggie) of Nashville; step-sister, Pris Keedy of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews.  Col. (Ret) Williams served his country in the United States Army and retired as a Colonel after 27 years of service.  After his retirement from the military he worked at Servpro for 9 years.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to cancer research.  Online condolences may be submitted at alexanderheritagefh.com.  Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
