Obituary of Christine West Hargis

Christine West Hargis, age 79 of Gallatin, passed away Friday, November 9, 2018.  Funeral Service will be Tuesday, November 13th at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home, 100 Albert Gallatin Avenue, with Bro. James Parker and Bro. Stephen Russell officiating.  Visitation will be Monday, November 12th from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, November 13th from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m.  Interment will follow the service at Robertson County Memorial Gardens, with Tommy Hargis, Jeremy Hargis, Kaleb Keller, Matthew Hargis, Trevor Bennett, and Casey Briley serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers are nephews, nieces and their spouses; and her great grandchildren.

Mrs. Hargis was born March 17, 1939 in Duers Mill to the late Casey West and Dixie Simmons West.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husbands, Blonnie Briley and John Hargis; brothers, Earl West, James West, and Harold West; and sisters, Bernice Crowder and Betty Jenkins.  She is survived by sons, Randy Briley (Teresa) of Gallatin. John David Hargis of White House, and Carl “Bubba” Hargis of Old Hickory;  daughter, Deanna Bennett of Lafayette; brothers, William Ernest West of Springfield and Sanford West of Cleveland, OH; 6 grandchildren, Tommy Hargis, Jeremy Hargis, Matthew Hargis, Kaleb Keller, Trevor Bennett, and Casey Briley; 2 great grandchildren, Luke Hargis and Jameson Hargis; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hargis worked for National Life and Accident Insurance Company, the Portland Leader, and Bargain Browser Newspaper.  She attended Old Union Church of Christ after moving to Gallatin.  Special thanks to the staff at Christian Towers in Gallatin for all of their love and care.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Old Union Church of Christ, Youth Fund, 2505 Hartsville Pike, Castalian Springs, TN  37031.  Online condolences may be submitted at alexanderheritagefh.com.  Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
