Obituary of Phyllis K. Paull

Phyllis K. Paull, age 71, of Blackshear, GA, formerly of Gallatin, TN, passed away Wednesday afternoon at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House after a brief illness.  Memorial Service will be Saturday, November 17th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home, 100 Albert Gallatin Avenue, Gallatin, TN  37066.  Visitation will be Friday, November 16th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 17th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. 

Mrs. Paull was born in Gallatin, Tennessee to the late Wilburn Kirkham and Dorothy Sue Whiteside Kirkham.  She is a graduate of Gallatin High School.  Phyllis attended Western Kentucky University, where she was a majorette, and graduated from Longwood in Farmville, VA.  Mrs. Paull had made Blackshear her home since 1995.  She was a dedicated school teacher for over thirty years.  She taught for numerous years at Vena Stuart in Gallatin, 1st grade at Blackshear Elementary before her retirement in the spring of 2012.  She was a member of Gallatin Church of Christ, First Methodist Church of Waycross, United Daughters of the Confederacy, and the Okefenokee Golf and Country Club, where she enjoyed fellowshipping at her weekly bridge games with friends.  She loved UT Football and her Saturday trips to Knoxville to watch #14 play (her son, Lee).  Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Kirkham.

Mrs. Paull is survived by her husband, Bob Paull of Blackshear, two children, Dr. Robert Lee England IV and his wife Lois of Birmingham, Alabama, Kirk England and his wife Ashley of Spring Hill, Tennessee, two step-children, Hanna Clayton and her husband Jim of Springfield, Tennessee, Susannah Williams and her husband Jeff of St. Petersburg, Florida, five grandchildren, R.L. England V., Helen Brice England, Henry Harrison England, Garrett Williams, Tristan Williams, her sister-in-law, Julia Harrison of Wichita, Kansas and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
