Obituary of Jean Knight

Jean Knight, age 87 of Gallatin, passed away Monday, November 12, 2018.  Funeral Service will be Wednesday, November 14th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home, 100 Albert Gallatin Avenue, with Bro. Mike Corbin officiating.  Visitation will be Tuesday, November 13th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, November 14th from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow the service at Sumner Memorial Gardens, with James Perry, Patrick Rich, Billy Shrum, Jason Kopp, David Walden, and Jason Ford serving as pallbearers. 

Mrs. Knight was born April 25, 1931 in Lafayette, to the late Artist Dewey Ford and Hallie Lavena Leath Ford.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Estes Knight; daughter, Joan Porter; son-in-law, Paul Porter; brother, Earl Ford; and sister, Ruby Ferrell.  She is survived by sons, Joel Brooks (JoAnne) of Castalian Springs, Stevie N. Brooks (Nancy) of Gallatin, Kenneth Knight of Midlophin, VA; brother, Jerry Ford (Sandy) of Hartsville; 6 grandchildren, Jessica Shrum (Billy), Kristy Kopp (Jason), Mandi Walden (David), Jodi Perry (James), Brad Moss, and Katie Knight; and 12 great grandchildren, Gage Shrum, Gaby Shrum, Brooks Kopp, Sydney Kopp, Isabella Walden, Sam Walden, Luke Walden, Joy Perry, James Moss, Joseph Moss, Kristen Moss, and John Moss.

Mrs. Knight worked at Lafayette Manufacturing and Eaton Corporation. She was co-owner of Knight Tile and Marble, with her husband, for 55 years.  She was a member of the Baptist Faith, and loved being with her family, quilting, gardening, canning, and bush hogging the fields.  Online condolences may be submitted at alexanderheritagefh.com.  Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
