Obituary of Maria Elaina Wainscott-Payne

Maria Wainscott Payne-age 75, of Lebanon, Tennessee, passed away Monday November 12, 2018. Born in Peoria, Illinois on February 16, 1943, she was a daughter of Michael P. Ingolia and June Stark Ingolia (Kee). She married Ronnie Wainscott in June 1961 and together they raised three sons: Michael. Devon and Christopher; as well as assuming responsibility for her younger sisters, Caroline and Michelle. Ronnie passed away in 1984 and she married James Payne in 1987. She and James reared two of her grandchildren, Darien and D.J.

Maria was proud of her Italian heritage and her Catholic faith. She enjoyed homemaking and at one time operated her own catering business. She was also the proprietor of Wright’s Restaurant in downtown Peoria for several years.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, son, Michael Wainscott, and infant brother, Julius Ingolia.

Survivors include sons, Devon (Linda) Wainscott, Christopher Wainscott; grandsons; Darien, D.J., Christopher, Ronnie Joe, Brendan and Cody; great-grandson: Raven; sisters Caroline (Ralph) Tubb and Michelle (Carroll) McMahan; brothers: Dominic (Sue) Ingolia and Pete (Joan) Ingolia; nieces and nephews: Tina Kingsland, Nick Ingolia, Giovanni Ingolia, Vincent Ingolia, Lacey Rankin, Mia Ingolia and Lori Whited.

The family expresses gratitude to the staff of Quality Care Nursing Home where she resided the past year. Memorial contributions may be made to Kindred at Home Hospice,115 Winwood Drive, Lebanon, TN, 37287.
