Obituary of Carol Bass

Carol Bass, age 85 of Gallatin, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019.  Funeral Service will be Sunday, January 13th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Dallas Frazier officiating.  Visitation will be Saturday, January 12th from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, January 13th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will follow the service at Gallatin Cemetery, with Randy Jones, Jared Glascock, Brantley Carmouche, Brian Diggs, Hunter Evans, and Kesley Isenberg serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Bass was born February 2, 1933 in Tifton, GA to the late William Granville Brantley and Lula Mae Dixon Brantley.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Billy D. Bass; daughter, Jane Burton; grandson, Ashley Gray; and sister, Nadine Bennett.  She is survived by daughters, Tracy Shafer (Whitey) of Ridgetop, Joy Schmidt (Fred) of Frankfort, Brenda Gray of Oak Grove, and Rebecca Perkins of White House; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.  She worked in the entertainment industry as a singer/songwriter and sang at the Grand Ole Opry on many occasions, she also sang with Jim and Jesse and the Virginia Boys.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.  Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
