Obituary of Sharon Kay Avrett

Sharon Kay Avrett went to her Heavenly home on March 18, 2021, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Sharon was born November 23, 1946, in Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Pauline Ragsdale Avrett and her sister, Barbara Davis, all of Irving, Texas. Survivors include her brother, Larry (Marty) Avrett of Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews along with their families that loved her, cared for her deeply and shared their lives with her. Throughout her life, she was a bookkeeper, office manager, and nail tech. She was an esthetician in New York City and a landlord, owning multiple buildings and properties in several states. Sharon loved family, her church friends, people in general, and her dog Arlo Guthrie and cats, Claudine and Sydney. She appreciated all things artful, colorful and classy. Her sassy sense of humor will not be surpassed. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 22nd at 11 AM in the Chapel of Sellars Funeral Home at Hendersonville, TN with Rev. Maury Davis officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of her beloved life group from Cornerstone Church in Nashville. The family will welcome friends during a visitation on Sunday, March 21st from 2-4 PM and Monday, March 22nd from 9 AM until time of service. Graveside service and interment will be Thursday, March 25th at 1 PM at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 E. Irving Blvd., Irving, TX.
