Obituary of Geri Weidner

Geri Weidner, age 77 of Castalian Springs, passed away Monday, April 12, 2021. Funeral Service will be Friday, April 16th at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Elder Ronnie Tennant and Bro. Stephen Russell officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, April 15th from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. and Friday, April 16th from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Historic Gallatin Cemetery, with Jon Weidner, Ken Weidner, Garrett Weidner, Brant Weidner, Tyler Weidner, and Cam Crutcher honoring her as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Old Union Church of Christ Youth Fund, 2505 Hartsville Pike, Castalian Springs, TN 37031. The family respectfully asks that everyone wear a face mask. Mrs. Weidner was born October 27, 1943 in Hazard, KY to the late George Sparkman and Juanita Riley Martin. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by the man who raised her, George Cox; step-father, Delbert Martin; and brother, Ronnie Cox. She is survived by husband of 59 years, Bob Weidner of Castalian Springs; sons, Jon Weidner (Geretta) of Gallatin and Ken Weidner (Donna) of Gallatin; brothers, John Cox (Carol) of Middletown, OH, Steve Cox of Middletown, OH, Danny Cox (Darlene) of Middletown, OH; sisters, Joyce Turner (Bill) of Mississippi, Shirley Cox of Springdale, OH, Lisa Keeton (Jerry) of Franklin, KY, Pam Carpenter of Middletown, OH, Tina Farler (Ed) of Hillsboro, OH, and Kim Hutzel (Marion) of Amelia, OH; 4 grandchildren, Jessica Weidner of Bethpage, Brant Weidner (Nicci Alves) of Gallatin, Garrett Weidner (Brittany Vaughn) of Castalian Springs, and Tyler Weidner (Tuesday) of Castalian Springs; 1 great grandchild, Jon “Jon Boy” Summers of Bethpage; and many nieces and nephews. Geri worked for Charles C. Parks in Gallatin for many years, retired from banking in Nashville, and was a U-Scan Trainer for Kroger for several years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
