Obituary of William "Wess" Welch

William “Wess” Welch, age 80 of Lafayette, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021. Funeral Service will be Sunday, August 29th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Bro. Donnie Likens officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, August 29th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Haysville Cemetery, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Mr. Welch was born May 14, 1941 in Arkansas to the late Edith Welch. In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by sons, Wayne Welch and Willie Welch; and grandson, Curtis Moore. He is survived by wife of 43 years, Dora Prater Welch of Lafayette; sons, Scottie Welch of Lafayette and Marcus Harris of Lafayette; daughters, Tammy Likens (Michael) of Lafayette, Jennifer Moore of Lafayette, and Barbara Welch of Lafayette; brothers, Johnny McBride (Libby) of Oak Grove and Marvin McBride of Gallatin; sister, Suzie McBride of Oak Grove; 8 grandchildren, Venassee Moore, Deshea Welch, Nyleana Harris, Azalea Harris, William Likens, Ariel Likens, Brandon Harris, and Angel Likens; and 1 great grandchild, Hannah Likens.
