Melissa was and remains an inspiration for me to be a better person, parent and friend. She gave to all she met from her heart which was bigger than most. She knew what was worth worrying about and what was not. She accepted us all for who we are and celebrated life every day in small ways and with many kindnesses doled out indiscriminately to all in her orbit. I am so grateful to have had time with her when our girls were small and wish we’d had more time in recent years. I do not know a Mom who loved her children and family more or as well. She gave everything she had …plus more. Selfless, genuine, humble, passionate, generous, loving, kind …a true friend. My heart will always have a special place reserved for Melissa. Rest In Peace dear friend.
Melissa Perkins,
You are forever loved. You are missed terribly. Your legacy and your beautiful spirit lives on through your beautiful children. Your infectious personality will never be forgotten. Your beautiful faith and love for Christ has touched us all.
I see your smile and hear your laughter.
I remeber a conversation we had and you'd say "I laugh all the time. Even when I get nervouse, I laugh".
Thank you for the laughter.
You are an amazing anointed woman of faith, worth and courage.
Your heart is bigger than this whole world.
Missy you taught us all how to love unconditionally.
As sit on the right hand of Jesus, we know your spirit lives on.
You are missed. You are loved.
Dee, Drew, Kate, Addi
I met Missy when I was one of Pat Pat’s (Her Mother) Children at The Tennessee Baptist Children’s home. Missy would always bring Christopher, Taryn & Kaelin with her. I remember when she taught me some sign language so I could talk to Christopher it was always so cool to see how fast she could move her hands when talking to him. The thing that I always loved about her family was they always made us feel like family. Always showing us love & so joyful to see us when they would come over. Missy always had a smile on her face when she would come through the door. Countless hours of outside playtime with the girls & board games was more than enough to keep us kids happy. I just appreciate the memories that I have from This beautiful loving family. I’m sending your family lots of love Pat Pat!
