Obituary of John Douglas Woodard

John Douglas Woodard, age 85 of Gallatin, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021. Funeral Service will be Thursday, December 23rd at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage, with Dr. Travis Fleming officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 22nd from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, December 23rd from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Crestview Memory Gardens, with Justin Wilson, Chris Wilson, Nathan Woodard, Nicholas Woodard, Matthew House, and Mike House serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 478 Craighead Street #200, Nashville, TN 37204. Mr. Woodard was born January 23, 1936 in Gallatin to the late Douglas Newton Woodard and Iris Dycus Woodard. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by first wife, Lillian Cage Woodard; and brother, Jerry Woodard. He is survived by wife, Jenny Langiotti Woodard of Gallatin; son, Steve Woodard (Susan) of Nashville; daughter, Teresa Wilson (Tony Smart) of Gallatin; step-children, Patty House (Mike) of Gallatin, Jim Canter (Sandy) of Tallahassee, FL, and Steve Canter (Betsy) of Pleasant View, TN; brother, Frank Woodard (Shirley) of Goodlettsville; sister, Kay Lauper of Gallatin; sister-in-law, Carol Woodard of Gallatin; 11 grandchildren, Justin Wilson (Amber), Chris Wilson (Hannah), Nathan Woodard, Nicholas Woodard, Giles Canter (Stephanie), Ryan Canter, Amy Bennett (Jason), Ashley Shelton (Trey), Alison Baxter (Josh), Emily Roebuck (Andy), and Matthew House; and 1 great grandson, Thomas Wilson.
