Obituary of William G. "Billy" Green

William G. “Billy” Green, Jr, age 71 of Gallatin, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022.  There will be a Celebration of Life Service, with a Masonic Service, Saturday, April 9th at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Saturday, April 9th from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of William Golman Green, Jr. to Al Menah Shriners Children’s Hospitals, P.O. Box 78545, Nashville, TN  37207 or to the Sumner County Museum, P.O. Box 1163, Gallatin, TN  37066.

Mr. Green was born March 26, 1951 in Nashville to the late William Golman Green, Sr and Nancy Elizabeth Butler Green.  He is survived by wife of 44 years, Hattie Belle Hitt Green; son, Wesley Green (Kris) of Woodland, CA; sister, Laurette Nuckols of Gallatin; and grandson, William Ryder Green.  Mr. Green retired from G.E. after 23 years of service.  He was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church and served as a Chairman of the Board.  Billy was very involved with 18th Century Civil War Reenactments and the Sumner County Blacksmiths.  He was a member of King Solomon Lodge #94, and a Shriner.  Mr. Green was involved with John Garrott in forming the Sumner County Museum, where he also served as a volunteer.  He was a member of the Bowling Green Corvette Club and learned to work with fiberglass and restore Corvettes.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.  Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored to assist the family.
