Obituary of Thomas Jerry Wheeler

Mr. Thomas Jerry Wheeler, age 86 of Portland, TN, died Wednesday June 30, 2021 at his home in Portland, TN. Mr. Wheeler was born July 3, 1934 in Nashville, TN the son of the late Thomas Henry and Ruby Wheeler. Mr. Wheeler is survived by his wife, Christine Wheeler of Portland, TN. Three sons; Shaun Wheeler of Portland, TN, Robert Bristol of Ft. Myers, FL and Jerry Wheeler Jr. of Nashville, TN. Four daughters; Shauna Wheeler of Hendersonville, TN, Michelle Pfiester of Navarre, FL, Renee Fletcher of Nashville, TN and April Walls of Portland, TN along with several grandchildren and one great grandchild. Along with his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a brother George Henry Wheeler and a sister Wanda Wheeler Rube. Jerry was a veteran of the US Navy. Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Gilbert Funeral Home in Portland, TN. Visitation with the family will be held from 12:00 PM until service time Saturday at Gilbert Funeral Home. Jerry’s remains will be entombed at Nashville Veteran’s Cemetery in Madison, TN with military rites at a later date.
