Obituary of Ben F. Ruffin

Mr. Ben F. Ruffin age 84 of Adams, TN, formerly of Portland, was taken on the wings of an angel Thursday, October 21 2021 from his home in Adams, TN. Mr. Ruffin was born October 7, 1937 in Adams, TN the son of the late C. Frank and Ruth Spurlock Ruffin. Mr. Ruffin is survived by his niece Sherry Dixon Rains, great niece Julie L. Poole, great great nephew John C. Hardy (Emily), and a great great great nephew Jonathan Tyler Hardy. Along with his parents, Mr. Ruffin is preceded in death by his wife Mary Frances Dixon Ruffin. Two sisters Mary Jo Ruffin Dixon Armes and Marjorie Ruffin Mantlow along with his brother Johnny R. Ruffin. Mr. Ruffin was retire from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service around the world. He was known for his big heart, smile and his generous nature. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday October 26, 2021 at Gilbert Funeral Home in Portland, TN. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memory Garden. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday and from 9:00 AM until service time Tuesday at Gilbert Funeral Home.
