Obituary of James Stewart Zimmerman

Mr. James Stewart Zimmerman Sr., age 79 of Portland, TN died Saturday October 23, 2021 atHendersonville Medical Center in Hendersonville, TN. Mr. Zimmerman was born November 8, 1941 in Modal City, NY the son of the late John and Anna Zimmerman. Mr. Zimmerman is survived by his wife Diana Zimmerman of Portland, TN. Two sons James Zimmerman Jr. of Ransomville, NY and Michael Zimmerman (Cynthia) of Helena, AL. A brother Albert Zimmerman of Ransomville, NY. Two sisters Anna Buttery of Ransomville, NY and Marion DeLude of Warsaw, NY. One grandson Michael James Zimmerman along with several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Mr. Zimmerman was preceded in death by four sisters Bessie Bennett, Winnie Zimmerman, Dorothy Seffelt and Lorene Polo. Four brothers Kenny, Eddie, Junior and Harvey Zimmerman. Mr. Zimmerman attended Free Will Baptist Church and retired after 30 years with General Motors. Funeral services will be held from 2:00 PM Saturday October 30, 2021at Gilbert Funeral Home in Portland, TN. Burial will follow at Old Brush Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday and from 9:00 AM until service time Saturday at Gilbert Funeral Home.
