Obituary of Mr. James Edward Jones Sr.

Mr. James Edward Jones Sr., age 87 of Cottontown, TN. entered into rest on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Signature Health Care in Portland, TN. Mr. Jones was born January 11, 1930 in Nashville, TN. the son of the late Edward and Virgie M. Jones. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Edna Jones of Cottontown, TN. A son, James Jones Jr. (Theresa) of Portland, TN. Two daughters, Penny Jones Wilson (Bob) of Portland, TN. and Janet Jones Whitfield of Cottontown, TN. Four grandchildren; Beth Ann Wilson, Jerry Jones, Jesse Jones and Angie Wilson Gregory. Seven great grandchildren; Tucker Jones, Tyler Gregory, Nate Gregory, Braiden Gregory, Jessie Jones, Adriana Gregory and Josie Jones. James was a member of Halltown General Baptist Church and a 31 year retiree of TRW in Lebanon, TN. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Old Brush Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM and from 9 AM until service time Saturday at Gilbert Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be; Jessie Jones, James Jones, Tyler Gregory, Nate Gregory, Braiden Gregory and Derek Gregory. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Johnson and Chris Whitfield.
