Obituary of Mrs. Edith Ann Bowen

Mrs. Edith Ann Bowen, age 73 of Portland, TN, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at her home in Portland, TN. Mrs. Bowen was born November 5, 1943 in Davidson County, TN. the daughter of the late James Roy and Neomia Groves Hardin. Mrs. Bowen is survived her husband, Prentice Bowen. A son, Tracy Bowen of Portland, TN. A daughter, Lisa Bowers (Brian) of Portland, TN. A brother, James Hardin (Linda) of Gallatin, TN. A Sister, Barbara Davis (Bill) of Old Hickory, TN. Two grandchildren, Chris Bowen and Hannah Bowers. A great grandson, Caleb Bowen. Edith was a secretary for Gallatin Hospital (Sumner Regional Medical Center) for many years. She is preceded in death by an infant son, Stephen Prentice Bowen. Two brothers, Jackie and Jerry Hardin and a sister, Pamela Groves Young. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Gilbert Funeral Home in Portland, TN. with Bro. Danny Chandler officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday and from 9:00 AM until service time Thursday at Gilbert Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Tony Hardin, Kevin Kepley, Brian Bowers, Chris Bowen, Wayne Hardin, Todd Davis and Michael Hardin. Honorary Pallbearers will be J.C. Morris and Tommy Biggs.
