Obituary of Ms. Hattie Jane Yoeckel

Ms. Hattie Jane Yoeckel, age 97 of Portland, TN., passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, TN. Ms. Yoeckel was born in Portland, TN, the daughter of the late John James and Carrie Austin Freedle. Ms. Yoeckel is survived by one son, Doug (Pam) Yoeckel of Portland, TN. 3 grandsons; Brian, Barry and Matthew Yoeckel. Ms. Yoeckel was preceded in death by her husband, Howard H. Yoeckel in 2006, and a son, Dennis Howard Yoeckel in 1962. Ms. Yoeckel was a graduate of Bowling Green Business college and worked as a bookkeeper. She served over 2 years in the Navy during WWII as a bookkeeper. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday at Portland Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Short Cemetery in Portland, TN. Visitation will be after Noon Friday at Portland Funeral Chapel and from 10:00 AM until service time Saturday at Portland Church of Christ.
