Obituary of Mable Sue Delk

Mable Sue Delk, age 66, of Cottontown, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013, in Gallatin. She is a native of Sumner County, and she is the daughter of the late Tom and Daisy Thurman. She is survived by her husband, Joe Delk of Cottontown; daughters, Ramona Ann (Dale) Love of Missouri, Mabel Melissa (Troy) Flatt of Portland, Tammy Lynn (Scott) Hudanish of Hendersonville; son, James Timothy (Kimberly) Delk of Cottontown; brothers, Eugene Thurman of Colorado, Tommy Thurman of Florida, Dewey Thurman of Portland, Earl, Charles and Miller Thurman, all of Gallatin; sister, Betty Jean Scruggs of Westmoreland; seven grandchildren, two step grandchildren, five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Delk is preceded in death by her sisters, Gracie Allison and Mary Whited. Visitation is after 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2013, and after 9:00 a.m., Thursday. Funeral service is 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Portland Funeral Chapel with Bro. Ronald Delk officiating. Burial is at Halltown Cemetery in Portland.
