Obituary of Mary Groves

Mary Groves, age 84, of Portland, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at Brandywood Nursing Home in Gallatin. She was born in Portland, and she is the daughter of the late Floyd Thomas Groves and Alice Groves. She is survived by her sons, Leon (Ketenia) Groves of Portland, James (Joni) Groves of Broken Arrow, Okla.; daughter, Mary Jean Groves Jernigan of Nashville; 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son, Thomas Edward Groves. She was a member of Parker's Chapel Baptist Church in Portland. Visitation is after 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 8, 2013, and after 9:00 a.m., Saturday. Funeral service is 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Portland Funeral Chapel with Minister Lawson Humphrey officiating. Burial follows at Parker's Chapel Cemetery in Portland.
