Obituary of Mary LaFayette Simmons

Mary LaFayette Simmons, age 81 of Hendersonville, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Mary was born on August 25, 1940 in Kingsport, Tennessee to the late LaFayette “Fate” and Bonnie Frances Mitchell Simmons.

Mary is survived by her son, Mitchell Scott Byerley; daughter, Angela Jay Byerley Brewer-Granda; grandchildren, Mitchell Scott Byerley, Jr., Katherine Elizabeth Byerley Boggan, Victoria Elizabeth Bates, and Remington Todd Brewer; sister, Karen Diane Simmons England;  numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Winston Simmons; sisters, Laura Lee Simmons Hall and Jacqueline Anne Simmons Seaton; son-in-law, Zachary Todd Brewer.

Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, May 14th at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home at Hendersonville with Dina Miller-Pew officiating. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, May 14th from 11:00 AM until time of service.
