My favorite memory with Pa, and likely his favorite one to share, was when he took me out on the lake tubing for the first time. I was about 8 years old and had done a few practice runs with my sisters, aunt, and uncle. I decided I wanted to go alone. Pa put me in the tube and began driving the boat. No more than 30 seconds into him driving, fish by the dozens started jumping out of the water over my head while I was in the tube. I was screaming at him to stop the boat while everyone else was in hysterics laughing. He knew I was not happy with him for continuing to drive while I had fish jumping over my head! He explained to me through uncontrollable laughter that if he would have stopped the boat, the fish would have been IN the tube with me- and he knew I didn’t want that. He and I would laugh about that often. We are lucky God handpicked him to be our Pa, and we miss him so much

Dan was a very special member of our Sunday School class and Martha too. Dan and my husband Bill loved to talk Tennessee and Kentucky football and basketball. Dan loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was so proud of them. His love for Martha was so endearing. Dans love for Christ was most important to him and he loved sharing his faith with others . My prayers are with all the family. Dianne Hunt
