Doug was a great guy! I enjoyed working on projects with Doug when he came into Mt. Juliet City Hall to acquire maps of properties he was working on or surveying. One thing that really stuck out was how Doug treated my two young sons. Doug would constantly ask how they were doing and would talk to then at church nearly every time we saw him. Sometimes Doug was nice enough to send letters in the mail to both of them with a few dollars inside the envelope. When I became very sick a few years ago- Doug was one of the first people who called me to see how I was doing and if he could get me anything. It was also a blessing to see Doug at church with his unique belt buckles he would wear. My boys and I still love the Pacman belt buckle that he would sometimes come to church in. Ultimately, we know Doug is in a better place with Jesus but we will sure miss him here on earth. The Ealy family as well as many others will very much miss Doug.
