Obituary of Bobby Lee Butler

Bobby Lee Butler, age 87 of Gallatin, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, June 29^th at 10:00 a.m. at Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin Chapel, with Bob Snell officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 28^th from 3:00-7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, June 29^th from 8:30 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m. at Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin. Entombment will follow the service at Sumner Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, with Jerry Holmes, Willie Holmes, Tim Willmore, Greg Shoemaker, Kelly Butler, and Randy “Moonpie” Moore serving as active pallbearers.   Jeff Butler, Bronson Butler, and Kage Butler are serving as honorary pallbearers.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Lion’s Club, P.O. Mr. Butler was born April 18, 1935 in Jackson County, TN to the late Wig Thomas Butler and Versie Lee Butler. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Mack Butler, Ed Butler, W.B. Butler, Aubrey Butler, and George Butler; sisters, Reba Alene Holmes, Charlene Snoddy, and Wanda Simpkins. He is survived by sons, Kevin Butler (Hollee) of Gallatin, Ken Butler (Laura) of Portland, and Kerry Butler (Michelle) of Brentwood; grandchildren, Bronson Butler, Kaelyn Butler and Kage Butler; and brother, E.H. (Bully) Butler of Knoxville.

Bobby enjoyed singing since the sixth grade, once competing against Pat Boone in a singing competition. He sang until the week he died. Bobby performed for many years in The Lion’s Club Minstrel Show, sang at First Baptist Church Gallatin before singing at First United Methodist Church Gallatin.
