Obituary of Forrest Russell
RUSSELL, Forrest James, age 78 of Nashville, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022.
A native Nashvillian, Forrest graduated from and played football at both Glencliff High School and Vanderbilt University. He enjoyed all things outdoors, especially hunting with family and friends. As a registered Engineer in dozens of states, he worked at Kirby Building Systems and Breeko Corporation for the majority of his career. He was a member of Cornerstone Nashville in Madison. Forrest supported Shriners Hospitals for Children through the Al Menah Shrine, was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and member of McWhirtersville Masonic Lodge #375. He loved and cherished his family, but most of all the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gertrude and William “Rusty” Russell.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lora Ritchey Russell; son, Clint Russell (Shannon); daughter, Alison Russell; step-son, Michael Ritchey (Sara) and five grandchildren: Ryan Russell, Libby Carlisle, Elizabeth Russell, Jack Carlisle and Mary-Claire Russell. He is also survived by numerous relatives and friends.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 12:00 pm at Cornerstone Church, 726 W. Old Hickory Blvd., Madison, Tennessee with Michael P. Ritchey, son of Forrest’s loving wife officiating. Entombment will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023, from 4:00-8:00 pm at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet, 2229 N. Mt. Juliet Rd., Mt. Juliet, TN with a Masonic Memorial Service at 5pm conducted by McWhirtersville Masonic Lodge #375. An additional visitation will be held on Friday at 10:00 am until the time of service at Cornerstone Church.
Serving as pallbearers, Ryan Russell, Jack Carlisle, Leighton Bush, Nick Warf, Mike Hayes, and Mitch Owens. Serving as honorary pallbearers, Ushers of Cornerstone Church and Members McWhirtersville Lodge #375.
