Obituary of Melba Sue Barber

Ms. Melba Sue Hughes Barber, age 81, of Lafayette, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Macon Community Hospital. Funeral services for Melba Sue Barber are scheduled to be conducted on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at 2 PM from The Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Donald Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in The Macon County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation with the family will begin at the funeral home on Saturday, March 11, 2023, from

11 AM until 9 PM, and on Sunday from 9 AM until service time at 2 PM.

Ms. Melba was preceded in death by her Husband, Ray Dean Barber; Parents, James Rudolph Hughes and Glean C. White Hughes; Sister, Marilyn Francis and Infant Sister, Dolly Faye Hughes.
