Obituary of John James Brockman
Mr. John James Brockman age 76, of Hendersonville, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023. John was born on July 12, 1946 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin to the late Henry and Susan Brockman.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Michael Brockman and Henry “Hank” Brockman, Jr.; nephew, Mark Brockman.
John is survived by his wife of fifty years, Esther Brockman; nephews, Butch (Wendy) Brockman and Kyle (Jen) Brockman; nieces, Nadine (Bruce) Nichols and Denise (Mark) Whitaker; great nephews, Charlie Brockman and Grant Whitaker; great nieces, Taylor Brockman, Claire Whitaker, and Natalie Brockman; several cousins and friends.
John started a career in Media Tele-communications and Consulting in Wausau, WI. He retired with Esther in Hendersonville, TN. John's job took him and Esther to many different locations where his specialty was to redirect companies to profitability. He met several people from those opportunities that became lifelong friends to this day.
Being Roman Catholic was the foundation of John's life. He attended church every week never missing a mass, a Holy Day, lighting Prayer Candles for any family or friend who needed extra support or singing in the choir. He considered his Knights of Columbus Brothers as family.
John's great passions in life were Esther his wife, his family, and the Indy 500 of 53 years. On any given time of day, he would sing "Back Home Again in Indiana" to whomever would listen. The Green Bay Packers and ice cream were also favorites of John. He was a great storyteller and when he would begin a story you would be his audience for the next 10 minutes or longer in most cases. John’s family and friends will also tell you (although he would deny it) that he was the most generous man in wanting to help anyone with a problem or need.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, June 23rd at 2:00 PM at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Hendersonville. Visitation with the family will be Friday, June 23rd from 12:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.
