Obituary of Jon Shrum

Jon Shrum, age 42 of Gallatin, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023.  Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 14^th in the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin.  Visitation will be Tuesday, June 13^th from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, June 14^th from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m.  Interment, with Military Honors will follow the service at Sumner Memorial Gardens, with Naval Officers, Chris Boucher, James Phillips, Clarence Yates, Jasen Billman, Jayson Whalen, and Jeff Hineman serving as pallbearers.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors Project, 223 Rosa L. Parks Avenue, Suite 301, Nashville, TN  37203.

Mr. Shrum was born March 30, 1981 in Gallatin.  He is survived by wife, Brandy Givens-Newby Shrum of Gallatin; son, Jon Addison Shrum of Gallatin; father, Michael L. Shrum, Sr. (Missy) of Gallatin; mother, Cindy McKinney York of Westmoreland; grandmother, Jean Shrum of Gallatin; brother, Timothy Shrum (Tamra) of Bethpage; sister, Holly Hodges (Brandon) of Bethpage; aunt, Joannie Borden (Randy) of Scottsville; nieces, Audrey Shrum and Abby Shrum; and cousins, Blake Legge (Stephanie), Lauren Wheeley (Justin), and Savannah Wheeley.  Mr. Shrum retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of service.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.
