Obituary of Sharon Lee Shackelford

Sharon Lee Griner Shackelford (77) passed away on Wednesday, June 21st, 2023, after a short battle with cancer. Her final moments were spent peacefully in her home in Mount Juliet, TN surrounded by family and watching birds feed on the birdfeeder.

She is preceded in death by her husband Dale Shackelford, her sister Karen Griner, her parents Harvey & Bessie Griner and her beloved canine best friend, Millicent. She is survived by her children Bill Basham, Eric (Melissa) Basham, Stephanie Basham, Kristy (Matt) Litton and Rebecka (Scott) Michael, Sisters Faye (Tommy) Phillips and Cathy (Bobby) Marlin, grandchildren Drew Basham, Noah, Elijah, Jakob and Raegan Litton and Cameron and Chase Michael. Nieces Stacey Phillips, Mandy Phillips, Shelley Hicks and nephew Scott Marlin.

Visitation will be from 11am -12:45pm, Monday June 26 at Sellars Funeral Home (2229 N Mount Juliet Rd, Mount Juliet, TN 37122).  Graveside service and burial to be held at 1pm at Mount Juliet Memorial Gardens (654 W. Division Street, Mount Juliet, TN 37122)

The family would like to extend their deepest and heartfelt thanks to her care team at Alive Hospice for taking care of her in her last days and the support provided to the family, and to all her physicians at Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown and HCA Healthcare.
