Obituary of Garry Earl Buck

Garry Earl Buck, age 69 of Gallatin, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023.  Funeral Service will be Monday, August 28th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin.  Visitation will be Monday, August 28th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00p.m.  Interment will follow the service, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.   In lieu of flowers, memorials to honor Mr. Buck may be made to Isaiah 117 House, P.O. Mr. Buck was born June 24, 1954 in Jackson, TN to the late Earl Elton Buck and Velma Louise Singleton Buck.  He is survived by wife of 42 years, Martha J. Hooper Buck of Gallatin; daughter, Mary Buck Morris (Chad) of Jefferson City, TN; son, Philip Andrew Buck of Gallatin; sisters, Carolyn Neilsen (David) of Tupelo, MS and Shelia Dodd (Tommy) of Lilburn, GA; twin grandchildren, Luke Morris and Amelia Morris: and several nieces and nephews.   Mr. Buck attended First Baptist Church in Gallatin.  He was a Promise Keepers attendee with his son Philip.  He was a graduate of Lambuth University with a BS Degree in Speech Pathology, then obtained his Masters Degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Memphis.  Mr. Buck practiced speech therapy in Dyersburg City Schools, Rebound, Inc., and Sumner Regional Medical Center’s Inpatient Rehab Unit from 1987 – 2020.  Garry was a Deacon at First Baptist Church in Dyersburg and at College Heights Baptist Church; he was a choir member and adult Bible teacher.  Garry loved nature, especially bird watching with his grandchildren.  In addition, he enjoyed all things historical.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.
