Obituary of Thomas D Cropper Jr

Thomas Delano Cropper, Jr., age 63, of Lebanon passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023.

Tom, son of the late Thomas Delano Cropper, Sr., and Martha (Dean) Wyatt, was born November 12, 1959, in Russellville, KY. He was a graduate of Bowling Green High School and attended Austin Peay University with an undergraduate degree in Culinary Arts. He worked for Performance Food Group, Nashville, as a produce buyer.

Tom was a devout Christian and was active in The Journey Church.  He especially loved spending time with his family.  He was also active with the Southeast Produce Council and Palmer Home Orphanage for Children in Hernando, MS. His hobbies included watching the Tennessee Titans, Tennessee Volunteers, and Kentucky Wildcats play, golfing, grilling, traveling, and deer hunting.

In addition to his father, Tom is preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Cropper and Timothy Cropper.

Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Ruth Cropper.  Two daughters, Carla (Carlos) Haynes, White House, TN and Janey Richardville, Gallatin, TN, and one son Shawn (Tonya) Cason, Hudson, WI.  Five grandkids, Jacob (Erin) Haynes, Huntsville, AL, Nicholas (Kate) Haynes, White House, TN, Grace Weekly, Anna Weekly, and Riley Cason, all of Hudson, WI.  One brother, Michael Cropper, and three sisters, Sharon Nichols, Janet (Chuck) Miller, Krystal (Chris) Proffitt.  Step-brothers, Stacy (Sheila) Wyatt and Jeremy (Rhea) Wyatt, and step-sisters, Laura Wyatt Porter and Kathy (Mark) Wyatt Sears.  Along with several nieces and nephews. 

Visitation for Thomas Cropper will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sellar’s Funeral Home, Lebanon, TN.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 10:00 AM at The Journey Church. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Church. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Lebanon, TN.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Journey Church – Regeneration Fund, Lebanon, TN, or Palmer Orphanage Home, Hernando, MS.
