Obituary of Donald Ray Fuqua

Donald Ray Fuqua, age 79 of Gallatin, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023.  Funeral Service will be Thursday, September 14th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin.  Visitation will be Wednesday, September 13th from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, September 14th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will follow the service at Crestview Memory Gardens, with Brant Corlew, Jeff Fuqua, Dalton Speller, Mark Visser, Barry Loveall, and Jim Ford serving as pallbearers.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105-9959, or to Shriners Children’s Lexington, 110 Conn Terrace, Lexington, KY 40508.

Mr. Fuqua was born July 16, 1944 in Bethpage to the late Brodie George Fuqua and Erma A. Thompson Fuqua.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife, Marsha “Liz” Fuqua son, William Fuqua; brother, George Fuqua; sister, Dottie Sue Stinson; and niece, Lisa McDade.  He is survived by nephew, Jeff Fuqua; nieces, Loretta Visser (Mark) of Gallatin, Branden Corlew (Brant) of Portland, Jessica Minard of Nashville, Holly Minard of Ohio, Avery Ross of Gallatin, and Marshall Ross of Cottontown; and great niece, Rachel Speller (Dalton) of Goodlettsville.  Mr. Fuqua served our country in the United States Air Force.  He retired from AT&T after over 30 years of service.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.
