Obituary of Ruth Windle

Ruth Windle, age 98 of Bethpage, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023.  Funeral Service will be Saturday, October 7^th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin, with Bro. Mike Ross officiating.  Visitation will be Saturday, October 7^th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will be in West Palm Beach, Florida.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals-On-Wheels, Mid Cumberland Human Resource Agency, Meals on Wheels, 1101 Kermit Drive Suite 300, Nashville, TN  37217.

Mrs. Windle was born December 5, 1924 in Logansport, IN to the late Harry Bowen and Carrie Wilson Bowen.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Melvin Windle; brothers, Richard Bowen and Harry Bowen; and sisters, Audrey Proud, Nora Caldwell, and Mary Smith.  She is survived by daughter, Karen Thomas (Steven) of Bethpage; grandchildren, Tamme Sterling, Sandi Thomas (Daniel Kirby), and Rory Thomas (Laura); great grandchildren, Kayla Grimes, Aaron Duerksen, Alexis Vogan, Wyatt Gollhier, Bailey Gollhier, Mike Charriez, and JozaLynn Velez; and great-great grandchildren, Riley Grimes, MacKenzie Grimes, and Ryker Vogan.  Mrs. Windle was a member of First Baptist Church in Gallatin.  She was a nurse and after retirement, took care of many of her neighbors, was involved with Meals-on-Wheels, and was a volunteer with the Palm Beach County Elections.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.
