Obituary of Helen Swafford

Helen Swafford, age 83 of Gallatin, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.  Funeral Service will be Wednesday, October 11^th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin.  Visitation will be Tuesday, October 10^th from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, October 11^th from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow the service at Sumner Memorial Gardens, with Allen Felts, Ryan Felts, Jr. Harris, Michael Gwaltney, Blake Roberts, and Kevin Shell serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers are Landon Boren, Connor Shell, Cooper Shell, and Isaac Felts.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin to assist the family with expenses.

Mrs. Swafford was born November 5, 1939 in Scott County, VA to the late Isaac Jessee and Ethel Horton Gilliam Jessee.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Willie Dean Swafford, Sr; son, Willie Dean “Bubba” Swafford, Jr; brothers, Clyde Jessee, Isaac Alonzo Jessee, and Kelly Jessee.  She is survived by children, Glenda Harris (Don) of Bethpage, Linda High (Robert) of Gallatin, Carol Harris of Gallatin, Brenda Harris Felts (George) of Gallatin, Jimmy Swafford of Calhoun, GA, and Suzette Long of Chatsworth, GA; brother, Jerry Wayne Daniels (Joan) of Big Stone Gap, VA; sister, Judy Jessee of Richmond, VA; 13 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.
