Obituary of Linnie Lyle Ames

Linnie Lyle Ames – October 14, 1933 – October 16, 2023.

Linnie was born on October 14, 1933, in Brewster, Kansas to parents, Lee W. Zimmerman & Esther M. Jordan. She attended Colby Community High School in Colby, Kansas and Central Business College in Denver, Colorado. She was employed by Boeing Aircraft in Kansas and Seattle, Washington. Formerly married to John R. Ames and she has one daughter, Staci Ames Bell.

Longtime resident of Knoxville, Tennessee for over 30 years, she was retired from TVA Knoxville. She relocated to Mt. Juliet for the last 17 years to be near her daughter and son-in-law, Staci L. Bell and Anthony Bell.

Linnie was an avid gardener and member of the Lake Forest Acres Garden Club. She loved the Lord, flowers, friends, and family. She passed from this Realm into the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 16, 2023. Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, sister, Georgia Price of California, nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

The Funeral Service will be held at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet on Thursday, October 19th at 2pm with Anthony Bell officiating. The Interment will follow the service at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. The Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12pm until time of service at 2pm.
