Obituary of James V. Cole

James V. Cole, age 89 of Gallatin passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.  Funeral Service will be Friday, December 8th at 1:00 p.m. at Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin, with Bro. Doyle Farris officiating.  Visitation will be Friday, December 8th from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin.  Interment, with Military Honors, will follow the service at Sumner Memorial Gardens, with Dale Smith, Clay Smith, Eric Cole, Ernie Cole, Brad Clubbs, and Dustin Gordon serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers are Nick Dragomire and the Elders and Deacons at Hartsville Pike Church of Christ.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hartsville Pike Church of Christ Youth Fund, 744 Hartsville Pike, Gallatin, TN, or to the charity of your choice.

Mr. Cole was born September 24, 1934 in Gamaliel, KY to the late E. C. Cole and Eula Simpson Cole.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters, Margie Latimer and Marcella Browner.  He is survived by wife of 66 years, Thelma Jean Dobbs Cole of Gallatin; daughter, Sheila Brown (Mark) of Gallatin; brothers, Bobby Cole of Gallatin and Ernest Cole (Linda) of Gallatin; sister, Patricia Smith (Dale) of Madison; and several nieces and nephews.  Mr. Cole served our country in the United States Army.  He was a member of Hartsville Pike Church of Christ.  Mr. Cole retired from Eaton after 30 years of service.  He worked for the Sumner County Board of Education.  James was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and was very active in his church.  He was a very devoted husband and a wonderful father.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.
