Obituary of Doris Jean Carr
Ms. Doris Jean Carr, age 83, passed away peacefully in Hartsville, TN, on Monday, December 11, 2023.
Ms. Carr was born September 9, 1940, in Monroe, Louisiana, to the late Lynn & Margaret Gibbs Cooke. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Sister Constance Kaye Seagraves and Grandson Gabriel Garcia.
Survived by: 2 Sons, Dennis (Pamela) Kloster-Roseville, CA & Greg (Kamala) Kloster-Hartsville, TN; 3 Daughters, Sue Ann McCullough-Hartsville, TN, Robin (Mark) Loos-Washougal, WA & Kerry (Nick) Garcia-Lewisville, TX; 19 Grandchildren, Coleman, Ben, Oliver, Ty, Alan, Brienna, Cameron, Christyn, Collin, Chandler, Aidan, Riley, Elise, Caleb, Calvin, Kenady, Mollie, Zoey & Remy; 22 Great Grandchildren, Wylhemina, Adehlayne, Mac, Pearson, Indi, Moxy, Liam, Payton, Bellamy, Augustus, Leonidas, Abilene, Olivia, Emme, Jacob, Kalen, Ainsley, Miley, Kaylin, Lauryn, Brooklyn & Lucy and Brother, Howard “Butch” (Lila) Cooke-Boise, ID.
Doris was known for her vivacious wit, competitive nature, and loving spirit. She had a history of teaching Sunday school, writing and directing church children’s plays, and her tattered note-soaked Bibles are aplenty. Though not a person of means, there was always an extra chair and plate at her table. Doris is remembered for faithfully serving God the Father for over 60 years and will be missed by many friends and loved ones until the day of her glorious resurrection.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Thursday, December 14, 2023, at the Church of Our Saviour, 704 Hartsville Pike, Gallatin, TN, conducted by Father Jacob Bottom. The interment will be in the Hillsdale Perpetual Care Cemetery, Macon County, TN.
