Obituary of Jerry Winford Hammock
We are sad to announce that Jerry Winford Hammock "Papa Stud", age 77, of Hermitage, TN passed away on December 24th, 2023. He enjoyed driving his Miatas, golfing with friends, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his ex-wife Judy Wright Hammock Seeley; daughters Michelle Hammock Newcomb and Tammy Hammock Dryden; sons-in-law Chris Newcomb and Matt Dryden; grandchildren Austen Hammock Smith, Zoe Newcomb Egesdal, Dixie Dryden, David Dryden, and Daniel Dryden; grandsons-in-law Jacob Smith and Tyler Egesdal; great-grandsons Elliott Smith and Theo Egesdal.
Jerry was born in 1946 to Virginia (Biggs) Hammock and Jacob Winford Hammock. He married in 1964, graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 1968, and joined the Army Reserves. He served in the 1st Gulf War during Operation Desert Storm and Operation Provide Comfort - being particularly proud of that mission's service to others in need - and retired as a CW4 after 30 years. He was the Associate Producer on the CMA Awards Show for 30 years, and for most of that time, processed payroll for both the musicians' and stagehands' unions in Nashville. His favorite pastime, other than golf, was as an organizer and officer of the Music City Miata Club of Nashville. He was a devoted servant to his family, friends, and country, and he will be missed."
