Mrs. Burton was born November 9, 1936, in Smith County, TN to the late Marvin Sircy and Delthy Givens Sircy. Etta was a “Jill-of-all-trades”; she was a wife and mother, a homemaker. She enjoyed: being a gardener, hunt and fisherwoman, knitter, landscaper. She loved to do puzzles, watch old time gospel, Vince Gill, tending to her many flowers, but most of all her fur babies. She worked hard for various factories being paid by the piece: shirt, bag (Werthan), and shoe (Genesco). She also worked for a local boat manufacture by applying upholstery for the seats. After her retirement, she found it most rewarding in sitting with the elderly and mowing the yard on her zero-turn mower. She was the oldest of 9 surviving siblings and she relished being able to look after her family. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and loved to share her Christianity with everyone she knew.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lee Burton; sister, Florence Virginia “Ginny” Bates; and brothers, Tony Sircy, Bobby Ray Sircy, and Jack Cecil Sircy.  She is survived by daughter, Pamela Burton, and Deanie White of Nashville; brothers, Billy Sircy of Gallatin, and Jerry Sircy (Barbara) of Gallatin; and sisters, Geraldine Gregory of Memphis and Earlene Byington of Lebanon.  Pallbearers will be Mike Sircy, Nick Gregory, Steven Sircy, Jeff Sircy, Derryl Henry and Dalton Henry.
