Obituary of Sammie L. Harris

Sammie Harris passed away on January 13, 2024 at the age of 81. The Funeral Service, conducted by Brother Danny Sellars, is 2 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2024 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN. Graveside in Wilson County Memorial on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at noon. Pallbearers: Brandon Contreras, Kyle Pryor, Melton Gail Tribble III “Trey”, Kenneth Webb, DJ Pope, and Will Pope. Honorary Pallbearers: Dorris Harris, David Pryor, Dickie O’Connell, and Kenneth Stafford. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the service at 2 p.m.

               Sammie Taylor Harris was born in Lebanon TN to Flora Dell Allison and Houston Taylor. She married Jerry Kenneth Harris and together they had a loving home in which they raised four children and doted on many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Sammie worked at Lux Clock for 21 years then co-owned K&S Marble in Lebanon for 28 years. She was Treasurer of the Fairgrounds Softball Association, and the best Ma to 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. She loved her family, her work, fishing and casino games too.

               Sammie is survived by her life partner and husband of 42 years, Kenneth Harris; children: Brenda Gail Pryor, Tina (Dickie) O’Connell, Melton Gail Tribble II, and Kenita Lynn Harris; grandchildren: Erica, Kyle, Alicia, Lanette, Amber, Kenneth, Lakeisha, Michael, Jimmy, Louvernna, Michaela, Trey, Maliah, and Summer; great-grandchildren: Caitlynn, DJ, Will, Kenneth, Dana, John, Logan, Daxton, Christina, Jasmine, Miriella, Taylor, Luke, Destiny, Ollie, Eli, Emily, Mikey, and Lilian; great-great grandchildren: Emory, Everly, Kian, Henry, and Willow; and siblings: Charles (Barbara) Taylor, Robert (Candy) Taylor, Jerry (Sherry) Taylor, Ona Lee Tomlinson, Ruby Pruitt, Linda (Bobby) Vaughn, and Donna (David) Beadle. She is preceded in death by grandson Donnie Pope, granddaughter Nevaeh Harris, great-grandson Robert “Bubba” McGill, parents Flora Dell and Houston Taylor, siblings Miles Taylor and Mai Dell Taylor.
