Obituary of Samuel Ray Bass
Samuel Ray Bass went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 18, 2024, at the age of 59. A celebration-of-life service for this beloved Christian man will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 20th, in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home, Mt. Juliet. Burial will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens with Kenton Hawkins, Adam Brookfield, Zachary Heaton, Terry Jennings, Mike Jennings, and Jeff Tidwell serving as pallbearers, with Wesley Dunn as honorary pallbearer. The family will be receiving friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. for visitation, with the service beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Sam was born June 4, 1964, to Nancy Barrett Duncan and the late Rexford Bass, Jr. in Old Hickory, Tennessee.
Sam was a graduate of DuPont High School and held a horticulture license. His primary career was freight and international shipping management with American Airlines, AeroDesign, CSX, and Amazon. Sam loved landscape design and owned Superior Turf & Landscape Management for fourteen years.
Sam is survived by his loving wife of nearly thirty years, Michele Bass; children: Riley (Lindsay) Bass and Cameron (Reagan) Bass; his mother, Nancy (Neal) Duncan; stepmother, Diane Bass; sister, Lisa (Kelly) Heaton; brother, Brent (Brittany) Wallace. He is preceded in death by his father, Rexford Bass, Jr.
