Obituary of Tony Lanier

Tony Lanier, age 66 of Castalian Springs, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024.  Funeral Service will be Friday, February 2nd at 2:00 p.m. at Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin.  Visitation will be Thursday, February 1st from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Friday, February 2nd from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will follow the service at Sumner Memorial Gardens, with Adam DeRossett, Michael Spencer, Dave DeRossett, Chuck Ward, Daniel Denny, and Jerry Lanius serving as pallbearers.  Irvin Stone will serve as honorary pallbearer.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105-9959.

Mr. Lanier was born September 27, 1957 in Atlanta, Georgia.  He is preceded in death by father, James Gilbert Lanier; grandson, Jonathan Spencer; and sister, Kimberly Dawn Lanier.  He is survived by wife of 48 years, Diane Suggs Lanier of Castalian Springs; mother, Barbara Morris Hoyt (Harley R.) of Panama City, FL; daughters, Talena Spencer (Michael) of Gallatin, Candace Dunbar of Gallatin, and Angela DeRossett (Adam) of Hendersonville; sisters, Debbie Carroll (Greg) of Panama City, FL and Kelley Blythe Jensen of Naples, FL; grandchildren, Caitlin McLaughlin (Cameron), Amanda Spencer, Brooke Spencer, Emma Spencer, Eden Spencer, Jaden Dunbar, Ella DeRossett, and Dace DeRossett; and great grandchildren, Delilah McLaughlin, Jaxon McLaughlin, Stella McLaughlin, and Kayden McLaughlin.  Mr. Lanier loved the Lord, his family, and friends; the impact he made on others will be carried on for generations.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.
