The family will be seatedat 1:40 p.m. for the music to begin. The inurnment will follow the service at the church columbarium. There will be a visitation at Reed Hall following the inurnment.

Obituary of Jewell Juanell McGhee-Rader

Jewell Juanell McGhee-Rader, age 78 of Gallatin, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024.  There will be a Gathering of Friends Saturday, March 16th from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin, 100 E.  Albert Gallatin Avenue, Gallatin, TN  37066.  The Celebration of Life Service will be Sunday, March 17th at 2:00 p.m. at West End United Methodist Church, 2200 West End Avenue, Nashville, TN  37203; the family will be seated at 1:40 p.m. when the music will begin.  Following the service, the inurnment will be in the columbarium at the church.  After the inurnment, there will be a visitation in Reed Hall.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West End United Methodist Church Music Ministry, 2200 West End Avenue, Nashville, TN  37203, to Indian Lake Elementary School in memory of Jewell McGhee-Rader, 505 Indian Lake Road, Hendersonville, TN  37075, or to the charity of your choice.

Mrs. McGhee-Rader was born May 16, 1945 in McMinnville.  She is preceded in death by father, Jewel Randolph Lasley; daughter, Kellye Dawn Perry; and step-son, Alan Jeffrey Rader.  She is survived by husband of 33 years, Franklin “Leon” Rader of Gallatin; mother, Mirrel Ruth Hunt Lasley of Perry, GA; son, Michael Austin Rader (Paula) of Kernersville, NC; daughter, Tonya Patricia Williams (Don) of Lebanon; brother, Edwin Anthony Lasley of Decatur, GA; sister, Janette Walker (Johnny) of Perry, GA; daughter-in-law, Tracy Magliocco of Pittsboro, NC; son-in-law, Deron Perry; grandchildren, Joshua Perry, Stephanie Bevil (Kevin), Lucas Perry, Benjamin Perry, Hayley Rader, Nicholas Rader, Destyn Rader, and Jaedyn Rader; and great grandchildren, Eliana Bevil, Lucy Bevil, Olive Bevil, Judith Willow Bevil, Levi Bevil, Eve Bevil, Ivan Bevil, Aubrey Perry, and Aleck Perry.  Mrs. McGhee-Rader was an educator for many years, working in Bradley County and Sumner County at Union Elementary (as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal), and serving as principal of Indian Lake Elementary for 17 years; she retired after 55 years of service.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.
