Obituary of Diana Mary Lynn Matthews - Farmer

Diana Mary Lynn Matthews Farmer, age 75 of Mount Juliet, Tennessee passed away Monday, February 5, 2024 at the family farm in Mount Juliet surrounded by family and friends. 

Funeral arrangements will include a visitation with the family on Friday, February 9th, at Sellas’ Funeral Home in Mount Juliet, from half past noon until 3:00PM, followed by a Grave Side Service at 3:30 PM at the 23rd Psalm Section of Mount Juliet Memorial Gardens, officiated by Fr. Davis Chackaleckel, Pastor of St. Stephen’s Church in Old Hickory.  Burial will follow with friends and neighbors serving as pall bearers.

Diana was born February 5, 1949 to the late Elton G. Matthews and the late Rosanna Bergeron Matthews.  She was a graduate of the Hendersonville Tennessee High School, Class of 1967.  Diana was a farmer, a homemaker and a member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Community.  Diana loved and enjoyed her various pets and farm animals, her Doll Collections, and her tireless charity work, generally providing assistance for those less fortunate.  She especially enjoyed traveling and visiting new places.

Diana was preceded in death by her Father, Elton Matthews and by her Mother, Rosanna Matthews.  She is survived by Jerry Farmer of Mount Juliet, by her brothers and her sisters-in-law: Bruce and Marilyn Matthews of Lake Charles, LA, Gary and Donna Matthews of Iowa, LA, and Timothy and Maribel Matthews of Cypress, Texas, and by her sister Bonita and brother-in-law Mike McGinty of Martindale, Texas, and by several nieces and nephews and their families, and a legion of dedicated friends throughout America.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) or to the charity of your choice.
