Obituary of Wayne Dodd

Wayne Dodd passed away on February 20, 2024 at age 77. The Funeral Service is 6 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2024 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN. Pastor Jonathan Richerson, of West Haven Baptist Church, will officiate the service. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 4-8 p.m. and on Friday from 5 p.m. until the service at 6 p.m.  Interment in Wilson County Memorial is 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2024. Pallbearers: Stanley  Dodd, Seth McKinney, Ted Swanson, David Collinsworth, Junior Clemmons, and Brandon Clemmons. Honorary Pallbearers: Young at Heart Sunday School Class and Don Turner.

               Robert Wayne Dodd was born in Alexandria TN to Ina Francis Phillips and James Robert Dodd. He met and married the love of his life, Patricia, and together they raised their family. Wayne loved his wife and family and doted on the grandchildren. He was a cowboy at heart, with a solid love for God, country, and family. Wayne was a leader in every facet of his life. He was a Sunday School teacher for decades, serving at First Baptist Church and West Haven Baptist. He enjoyed Joe Gibbs Racing, Vanderbilt University Sports and Titans football, collecting stamps, and sharing meals with his two other amigos.

               Mr. Dodd is survived by his son Matthew (Laura) Dodd, grandchildren Luke Robert Dodd and Abbie Leanne Dodd, and siblings Barbara Ann Clayton and James Stanley (Sharon) Dodd. He is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Pat Dodd, son Robert Wayne Dodd Jr., daughter Chrissa Leanne Dodd, and parents Ina Frances and Robert Dodd.
