Obituary of Dr. H. Glenn Jones

Dr. H. Glenn Jones, age 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening,

February 22, 2024 surrounded by members of his beloved family. Dr.

Jones was born on May 15, 1937 in Gallatin to the late Herman and Tina

Jones. After graduating High School, he earned his Bachelor of Science from Tennessee Tech University. He went on to attend the University of

Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1964. He proudly served his country in

the 2nd Battalion 8th of the US Marine Corp as a dentist on a US Naval ship.

As a lifelong resident of Gallatin, Dr. Jones was a man that lived life to the

fullest and took every opportunity to love and serve the people he came into

contact with: his family, his Church, his friends, and his community. Many

knew him as a highly respected dentist in the area for over 55 years and a

faithful member of First Baptist Church on Main Street. He was a die-hard

football fan, loving his Tennessee Volunteers and attending games as

frequently as he could.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by the mother of his

children, Jody Rodefer Jones; his son, Chris Jones; his brother, John Jones

and sister-in law, Brenda Jones.

He is survived by his wife of twenty years, Freida Smith Jones, his son,

Randy Jones (Rita) of Gallatin; his step-daughters, Jymme Ann Hodgson of

Cleveland, TN, and Christian Cornell (David) of Chattanooga; his

grandchildren, Dr. Lacy Jones (Dr. Alan Liu) of Hendersonville and Cyrus

Jones of Nashville, Jack Dye (Desirae) and John David Dye of Cleveland,

TN, Georgia Moore (Will) and Pearl Cornell of Chattanooga.

Visitation with the family will be held Sunday, March 10th, 2024 at 2pm, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 4pm at First Baptist Church located at 205 East Main Street, Gallatin, TN. Pastor Travis Fleming will be officiating.
