Obituary of Tommy Thompson

Tommy Thompson passed away on March 10, 2024 at age 63. The Funeral Service, conducted by Brother David Spears, is 1 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2024 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN. Interment in Wilson County Memorial. Pallbearers: Chris Shoemake, Chase Thompson, Kyle Campbell, Jason Neal, Mike Brakefield, and Raymond Hudson. Honorary Pallbearers: Kasyn Smith, Nolan Shoemake, and Jyace Neal. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and on Thursday from noon until the service at 1 p.m.

               Thomas Wesley Thompson was born in Lebanon TN to Mary Hube Grissom and Claude Thompson. He graduated from Castle Heights Military Academy in 1979. Tommy was like his favorite color red; bold. He enjoyed life to the fullest and never met a stranger. Tommy was for many years a route salesman for Purity Dairy, where he was able to combine service, travel, friends, and loyalty.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, home improvement projects, traveling, camping, Gatlinburg, and baseball. He was a member of New Hope Presbyterian.

               Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife of 25 years, Kimberly Brewer Thompson; children: Amanda (Chris) Shoemake, Marianne Thompson (Jason Neal), Kyle Campbell, Maggie Thompson (Mike Brakefield), and Chase Thompson; grandchildren: Keeleigh Smith, Sophie Shoemake, Emery Shoemake, Kasyn Smith, Nolan Shoemake, and Jyace Neal; siblings: Donnell (Wanda) Thompson, LeeAnne Thompson, Bobby (Lisa) Thompson, Alene Gibson (Rutherfood Polyte), and Jack (Phyllis) Thompson; beloved dog: Tink; and grand-dog: Khloe. He is preceded in death by parents Mary Hube Thompson and Claude “Bulldog” Thompson and nephew Jason Morse.
